Build & Release Architect

Can you optimize build & release paths for both binary and data schema releases?

SQA is seeking a Build & Release Architect to support an IT transformation. Our client, a behavioral health management company, is developing an enterprise DevOps culture supported by continuous test automation and continuous regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will drive a process re-engineering work stream to optimize and rationalize existing Build & Release processes, with strong dependencies on database/schema deploys as well as binary (application code) deploys. Initial 2+ months will focus on defining, socializing and prototyping process change with stakeholders.

The initial objective is to take the organization from a quarterly production release model requiring 3 days over a weekend to a monthly release without weekend work. This will be based on a Theory of Constraints refactoring effort starting as soon as the implementation plan is defined.

Critical skills and requirements include:

  • Strong understanding of build and release for both application code and database (changes at the schema level). EDI is ideal.
  • Experience rationalizing and negotiating revamped processes/approaches
  • Understanding of tool capabilities (BitBucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ant, Maven or similar)
